The Light Theatre Company Story

Light Theatre Company (LTC) is a social enterprise CIC

Our aim is to produce high quality theatre and films that have social and environmental issues at heart, for the benefit of the local and wider community.

We’re a thriving social enterprise founded in 2020 by Alistair Livingstone, Csilla Toldy and Seth Linder, Between us we have expertise in scriptwriting, directing and producing films, theatre and dance,

Renowned for our innovative 'in-the-round' formats, LTC has brought literary giants like James Joyce and Charles Dickens to life on stage, sparking discussions on diversity, homelessness, and mental health within the community. Our vision extends beyond local engagement, aiming to use our existing work as a foundation for future projects, reaching a wider audience through touring and international initiatives. Join us in our commitment to thought-provoking storytelling that resonates on both a local and global scale.We are based in the small beautiful village of Rostrevor and the company was formed by artist and designer/director Alistair Livingstone and writer Csilla Toldy and incorporated as a CIC Company in 2020. Later the same year the board of directors was joined by Seth Linder, writer and owner of the Rostrevor Inn. We have produced film and theatre projects and live and online festivals around the work of James Joyce, Charles Dickens and CS Lewis.

We particularly interested in developing and presenting work in ‘in-the-round’ and other formats and spaces.  In the past we have supported this work with by talks, workshops and discussions on topics that are relevant to the local community but often have resonance with more general problems of diversity, homelessness and mental health.

To date Light Theatre Company has produced thought provoking and innovative theatre and films recently based on literary and new work which reflects important national and global issues and the stories of the community.

Our vision is to capitalise on the material we have created previously and to use this to promote future activities not only to engage with a local audience but to expand and embrace touring and an international tourist clientele.
